Coming along.......

Here are some more shots of our chair rail/showdow boxes project.. its coming along very slowly!!! Still nowhere close to being completed yet !!paint is all over the place since painting it a nice thick coat makes it look perfect lol!!!We love how its turning out!! Makes the foyer look so fancy!!

And some new furniture has arrived.. I have been looking for a coffee table/ end table set to coordinate with the rest of the wood furniture and kitchen cabinet color for a while now and found this set on wayfair.com for a great price !!! The pics are a little dark sorry ! .. Paint on the accent wall is Latte from Sherwin Williams and the rest of the walls are kilim beige .. We were thinking of roman shades for the windows in here, the ones that hold the balloon shape to them from Hunter Douglas.. maybe a chair and a lamp in the other corner and this room will be FINALLY finished.... Geez.. I didnt think it was going to be so hard filling this 20ft room lol!!!!..... I do LOVE coming home though :)What have you guys done with your windows?? no coverings? curtains? Cornices??

The morningroom fan is finally up!! fan and rug from Home depot !! Same accent colors...

Can this be legal???? Any lawyers out there??ADVICE PLEASE.......

Ok..we just got off the phone with our gas and electric company. They informed me that Ryan homes submitted the rebate claim for our furnace and thermostat on January 25 2013.....WHEN WE ACTUALLY OWNED THE HOME. ....That cant be legal??... The rep told me that they used their old acct gas/electric number which was closed ....well their system had to pull my active account number and it couldnt verify, so they wanted to audit the claim and that is why I recieved the letter in the mail..... So in order to recieve any energy efficient rebate through our gas and electric company you NEED AN ACTIVE ACCT NUMBER... So they tried to get a claim without an active acct at my address!! And submitted it when I owned the home......we only have so many members....so anyone reading this ..please inform your friend ..neighbors..that are building ryan homes and check to see if this is going on everywhere......if you ran into this please let us know what you did....ANY ADVICE.???

REBATE DRAMA CONTINUES.....DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS????

So we get a call from the head of customer service after speaking with so many people that had no answers.. they basically stated that they bought the product first .... which is not really correct.. we took out a loan and paid them for that product .. so I beg to differ..... We requested to see a list of all the rebates that they recieved off of our property and she said their rebate information is private and cant be given to us.. so no where to go from here????......I guess...Unless you guys know more about this .. please let us know !!!!!did the reps state that all energy effiecient appliances ..furnaces ...windows... ect... rebates will only go to them and they take it off of our final price of the home? We didnt know any of that information or we would have negotiated that in the price of the home....

Please read!!,!RYAN HOMES GETS ALL OF OUR REBATES???

I just want to let everyone know that we recieved a letter recently from national grid. It stated that Ryan home submitted a claim to get a rebate for 500 dollars from OUR FURNACE AND THERMOSTAT. We had been randomly selected from national grid to have this information verified!! I called national grid and they stated that they dont normally verify often, but ryan homes used the gas electric acct number before it was switched over to get the money off the energy efficient stuff. Ryan will not get the money unless i let the nat grid rep into the home to verify the furnace and thermostat!!, so of course i called Ryan homes cust service center and what do ya know...i get a call from a the project managers manager stating that ..." why would they need to tell us they get a rebate off of the stuff they install..they get rebates off of everything"... I indicated that WE ACTUALLY PAID FOR THE FURNACE... So any rebate should go to the person that paid for the item....he went on to tell me that its factored into the price of the home blah blah blah....same crap they fed us thru the entire build......somehow ryan homes makes a hugggggeee profit or they wouldnt be building homes everywhere...so i have a feeling they didnt subtract that rebate they were getting off of the furnace....i now am requesting a list of all rebates they recived based off the things i purchased...ex all ge appliance packages....extra windows...does anyone else know this? I am assuming not unless it was told to you during the build process or you recieved a letter also..Wonder how many rebates they recieved in total?? It would be great for the home owner to actually recieve those!!..??Please LEt us know!!

Fancy Chair Rail......

We decided to try our hand at chair rail in the upstairs hallway, going down the stairs case wall and into the foyer, We finished the upstairs, just needs a second coat of paint. We are not finished with the project as we are going to continue with the shadow boxes underneath the chair rail, but that takes some more time mapping  out where exactly all these boxes go and what angle to put them going down the staircase wall... more pics to come as we finished the project .. its pretty inexpensive. We ordered everything on line from Home Depot. It looks like the chair rail that Ryan put up for is in the dining room , except for an extra piece on the bottom to "bump" it up a bit!!My soon to be hubby is pretty amazing with carpentry even though he is an engineer !! Check out the pics!! All the credit goes to him , since I was just the painter in this project lol!!! if anyone has pictures of molding and shadow boxes going down the staircase wall, please share so we have an idea how to angle the boxes !!! Thanks !!
